Improving the Adventitious Rooting Ability of Hard-to-Root Olive (Olea europaea L.) Cultivar Cuttings Through Inhibiting Strigolactone Biosynthesis

چکیده
Strigolactones (SLs) are synthesized in roots and control plant development. As phytohormones, SLs regulate architecture, including roots. Recently, the inhibiting effects of on adventitious rooting have been identified. Olive (Olea europaea L.) is consumed for oil table Mediterranean countries an economically important crop. Turkey one with highest olive production. has mostly propagated asexually via cuttings, however, capacities some agriculturally cultivars very low. Indole Butyric Acid (IBA) commonly used to promote it can be inadequate. Ayvalık easy-to-root cultivar most common grown production Domat a hard-to-root which IBA insufficient inducing rooting. In our study, synthetic rac-GR24 biosynthesis inhibitor TIS108 ability cuttings were investigated. result, was increased when treated TIS108, indicating promising future olive-cutting Therefore, study will provide potentially new tools propagation strategies using fruit trees.

Systemic responses in a tolerant olive (Olea europaea L.) cultivar upon root colonization by the vascular pathogen Verticillium dahliae
Verticillium wilt of olive (VWO) is caused by the vascular pathogen Verticillium dahliae. One of the best VWO management measures is the use of tolerant cultivars; however, our knowledge on VWO tolerance/resistance genetics is very limited. A transcriptomic analysis was conducted to (i) identify systemic defense responses induced/repressed in aerial tissues of the tolerant cultivar Frantoio upo...
متن کاملIn Vitro Culture Conditions and OeARF and OeH3 Expressions Modulate Adventitious Root Formation from Oleaster (Olea europaea L. subsp. europaea var. sylvestris) Cuttings
Olea europaea L. subsp. europaea var. sylvestris, also named oleaster, is the wild form of olive and it is used as rootstock and pollen donor for many cultivated varieties. An efficient procedure for in vitro propagation of oleaster was established in this study. A zeatin concentration of 2.5 mg/L was effective to induce an appreciable vegetative growth. Also high rooting efficiency was obtaine...
متن کاملAOX1-Subfamily Gene Members in Olea europaea cv. “Galega Vulgar”—Gene Characterization and Expression of Transcripts during IBA-Induced in Vitro Adventitious Rooting
Propagation of some Olea europaea L. cultivars is strongly limited due to recalcitrant behavior in adventitious root formation by semi-hardwood cuttings. One example is the cultivar "Galega vulgar". The formation of adventitious roots is considered a morphological response to stress. Alternative oxidase (AOX) is the terminal oxidase of the alternative pathway of the plant mitochondrial electron...
متن کاملProteomic Analysis through Adventitious Rooting of Pinus radiata Stem Cuttings with Different Rooting Capabilities
In forest production systems, vegetative propagation of elite clones through adventitious rooting is a common practice. In Chile, adventitious rooting is the main methodology for vegetative reproduction of Pinus radiata. However, the capability of produce adventitious roots in gymnosperms decreases with aging. While it is true that some efforts have been made to identify markers or/and regulato...
متن کاملEffect of Different Concentrations of IBA (Indulebutyric Acid) Hormone and Cutting Season on the Rooting of the Cuttings of Olive (Olea Europaea Var Manzanilla)
Objective: In order to study the effect of different concentrations of IBA hormone on rooting of olive cuttings in spring and winter of 2012-2013 in a greenhouse in Jiroft, Iran. Methods: a split-plot experiment was conducted on the basis of a Randomized Complete Block Design in which hardwood cuttings of one-year-old olive plants cv. Manzanilla with the diameter of 0.7-1 cm were used. The main...
